Baptism
We believe baptism is an ordinance instituted by Jesus Christ for those who have repented of sin and trusted in Him for salvation. Baptism is a public declaration of faith and an act of obedience that visibly portrays a believer’s union with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection.
Baptism does not save, but it testifies to the saving work of God already accomplished in the believer’s life. We practice baptism by immersion as the biblical pattern that best reflects the meaning of the ordinance. Baptism ordinarily precedes participation in the life and membership of the local church.
